Raleigh NC From the Window of a Train.
Author: bandob

Train was an AAPRCO special, 2009, enroute back to Washington, DC from Savannah, GA. Not overly dramatic views, just Raleigh.

1sr photo is looking East
2nd Boylan Ave bridge, NS units heading west, just off the old NS , Glenwood yard, with trackage rights (1/2 mile?) on former SAL.
3rd is former Southern station, still looking East.

Look at all those passengers leaning out the vestibules for photos...yourself included. Sadly even though these cars are privately owned, Amtrak no longer allows that practice on lines where they operate. I'm not aware of any AAPRCO passenger ever being injured for partaking in such a "dangerous" practice.

Rivets on the window frames suggest that the photos were taken from a heavyweight.
