Passenger Trains > ACE Chargers, San Jose

Picking up a Pizza provided an excuse for stopping by the station in San Jose to try to catch a new Charger on one of the two remaining Eastbound ACE trains.San Jose had a record for the date of 97 degrees which is hot for us Bay Area types.

1. ACE 04 was running with an F40PHM-2C, pulled up on Track 1 with a Capitol with a Charger on Trk 4

2 & 3. A little later, ACE 08 had Charger 3112 again on Trk 1, with the Capitol unfortunately having departed. I hope they're going to add a logo or something on the side of the Chargers.

They need a logo of some sort on that big hood space, as well as an easier to rear cab side number. The numbers just don't contrast very well with the rest of the paint job, especially in lower light situations.

Nice shots Jim. I like how you avoided the catnary poles too. Nice documentation of the changing of the guard.

I should have remembered that since I shot a photo of 3110 on Apr 10 at CP Expressway, Santa Clara.

Nice shots - uninspired paint job.  Are they going to rework all the cars to match the new loco striping? 

All the coach cars are going to be repainted. ACEX 3222 (Ex- cab car ACEX 3309) is the first car in the new paint scheme,it's almost finished and should be hitting the rails soon. 
The other Chargers will get their logos once time permits.

Note the Safetran Unilens signals.  Unless the issue has been corrected there is a possibility of the light from a headlight going down the fiber in the signal head and being "reflected" back up in an aspect other than what was intended.  This happened to a UP crew down at Delores.  Luckily they were able to prove the false indication.
