Here's a view of a train which just came off the Media/Elwyn line at Jefferson Station (formerly the Market East Station which replaced the Reading Terminal in 1984). The photo was taken at 9:17 pm on August 23, 2018. Thank you for looking. Date: 06/01/20 20:30 Re: Silverliner - A contemporary glimpse Author: pdt With all do respect....(as some one who lived in Phila much too long) The original 6 silverlines, and then the Budd Silverliner2's and St Louie Silverliner 3's were a lot nicer looking than the 4's and 5's, which i believe are all th's left. They are not "sll the same" to me. There's been a slow transition from what I would call "Railroad cars", to something closer to square box subway cars. .

That said, I've learned to find beauty in the Silverliner IVs. @ kycifan: Even though General Electric lost money, SEPTA got 45+ years out of them. That's a good run in my book. |
