Passenger Trains > Fight between conductor and psgr being thrown off #3 in La Plata

Check out the Virtual Railfan La Plata cams on YouTube. Scroll back to 19:44 to see the entire event unfold in front of the cam. The passenger became irate, attacked the conductor, injuring him, threw rocks at the car door, and finally got hauled off to jail when the cops arrived. Very interesting 40 minutes, with several police responding, paramedics, an ambulance. The conductor stayed on the train and continued.

That was bizarre.

Pretty sure he was the same dude that caused a stink there about 2-3 weeks ago.Last time he was refused passage on #3 ,then wandered around the depot until the following night,when he was granted entry to the train.He really pulled all the stops out tonight.

          Looked like the policeman gave the guy a lot of leeway. Couldn't tell what the final outcome was. Delayed the train a while I assume.

That was quite a scene. Policeman was very patient but it went downhill when the guy threw something at the policemen. Eventually many different uniforms appeared on the scene and they thoughtfully gathered all his stuff which was by that point thrown all over the platform. If someone could report on the outcome, that would be interesting. Maybe the whole country is no bail now? Was he released to wander in the woods? No idea. 

I'm left thinking that no one, especially Amtrak personnel, should have to deal with these characters. My sympathy to the passengers.

Watched the whole thing unforld and wondered if he was a stowaway or just causing a scene on the train.  Didn't seem to be quite all right mentally the way he carried on and threw rocks/ballast at the attendant at the coach door.  Will have to agree that the first policeman on the scene tried to talk the guy down to no avail.  Guess he finally threw him in the back seat of his squad car so he could go back to get a statement from the attendant.  

I wonder if Amtrak banned him from riding after the previous incedent.?

Somehow this will end up being the cops fault. Fortunate in this case the local department wasn't defunded.

There were several other people who got off the train as this incident finished up.  Don't know if they were Friends of his or what the story is.

Ban losers from Amtrak. No need to put up with this crap.

Did Bob Cox ever come on and say what the issue with this guy was?

I believe they were EMT's that got off before the train departed.

Amtrak wants caretakers to carry liability insurance.  This would be a good reason why!

The police are afraid anymore to touch anyone or do anything. One told me they are like social workers now. I watched the whole thing and as soon as he threw something at the cop he just have been cuffed and charged with several charges and since I am assuming the Amtrak cars are federal property and the conductor a federal employee there should be federal charges

As for his belongings throw them in the trash which exactly what this idiot is. Better yet have him come up there and pick his crap up even if it’s on his hands and knees !!!

Good for the Conductor!  Can you imagine if this idiot was allowed to board?  And why do I think this guy might have had a ripe aroma to him?  The Conductor saved the day for all his decent passengers, not to mention the crew.
