Trains and Stations: Cumberland, MD (Amtrak)

Today's Amtrak stop in Cumberland doesn't really deserve to be called a station. It is a flat space under a roof. The postcard view shows what used to be a magnificant B&O building.

Cumberland is an old school Amshack building and I'm not much of a fan of that. You can't compare it to the Western Maryland Scenic RR Station building which is a few blocks away.

On many trips on the EB Capitol Limited I never did figure out where the station was in Cumberland.  Usually the Cap would make several stops (sleeper and coach) and it was also a smoke stop, but it took me many trips to actually figure out exactly where the station was!
