Passenger Trains > BART and Caltrain in Orange Skies

I flew in/out of SFO (San Francisco International Airport) for my recent trip to Southern California during the Labor Day weekend.

A new Bombardier BART set greeted me for my trip to SFO, so I'm posting some grab shots here.

For the return trip back to SFO, my flight flew through some smokey and smelly skies while making the approach to SFO, caused by the combinations of devastating fires in Northern California. The smoke reached the upper atmosphere, causing a day of gloomy, orange skies.

In the video, I document the orange skies, another Bombardier BART set, and southbound Caltrain led by the venerable F40PH at Millbrae.

Great timing, good day for Lotto tickets.

Shows the fresh, unused BART cars and also the fresh unused catenary over the CalTrain tracks.

Amazing timing in that video! How are the new BART cars? I just missed riding them on my trip 2 years ago and haven’t been back since.

Personally, I think they are very nice.  Quieter and more comfortable.

If you're expecting heavily used mass transit cars to be "showroom fresh" all of the time then you're living in a fantasy.
Of course if the tax payers would provide more tax dollars for cleaning it wouldn't hurt.
So what's it going to be?
