Author: choodude I'm good with privatization of transportation.Auction off every square inch of roadway to the highest bidder and let the winners charge whatever tolls they feel like. If it doesn't sell for book value then tear it up and scrap it. See how much waste is eliminated? Plus none of that evil Government Entanglements.Plus your property taxes would go down because so much of road funding is cross subsidized by property taxes. The windfall from selling off all that property can reduce your government debt, take care of pension fund shortfalls. Better yet, all that property occupied by roads would be taxable and further reduce your property taxes.Suddenly privatization doesn't sound so good when your free lunch disappears

Changing that won't be easy. In some places in Europe, $6 and $7 per gallon gasoline and tolls on major highways help balance the transport system.
