Fresh Paint
Author: Peak45068

Just a heads up you photographers out there. Today’s Train 20’s power consists of #18 + #174.

Nothing new there, but the #18 is Ex Works from The Grove. It is spotless only working the City of New Orleans out of Chicago before today’s working.

Will it be the last Amtrak P42 to get a repaint?

All the stores ex MI units are now parked in the station now.

They are actively repainting engines, 89 just came out of the shop after a grade crossing incident in fresh paint too.

I know this is a minor detail, but did you happen to see what color sill stripe these new repaints had? I've seen one or two woth white sill stripes and it's a change from the normal red sill stripes.

Red colour sill stripe. I hope someone gets a nice picture in the sunshine as the #18 looks very smart indeed. Even the chains below the coupling that hold the pipes are spotless.

Let’s hope a few more get the TLC they deserve after the recent few of 18/89/54.

The #182 for example.

I wonder if the road vehicle's insurance picks up the tab for that.
