Passenger Trains > Amtrak 46 - next assignment?

Since the POTUS special train won't be operating, what's next for the specially prepared P42?

Anybody know where it will be assigned next?

I don't know, but the Capitol Ltd would be a good place for it. The train originates in the nation's capitol, it's named after it, and partially follows Biden's campaign train route through the Midwest.

To me the side decorations appeared to be celebrating Amtrak's anniversary, so there is no reason it can't roam the entire system.

Hopefully all the P42's cycling through the shops are getting the same "special preparation."

It’s called political satire. It’s been around WAY longer than this Country has.

It is called Train Orders ... not The Comedy Club.

Hopefully 46 will be seen around the country with the other "heritage" engines - even though it missed the premiere public performance.

In the lead past Elkhart this morning at 8:15am ET.

It would be great if they put 46 into a rotation that moved it around the country.  Like they have with some other specially marked units.

Why wouldn't they do that? Very few Amtrak owned engines are in any kind of captive service.

We see the same locomotives in South Florida on 92/98 for a few cycles, maybe two weeks.
