Thanks again for posting your great stuff.  We Midwestern flatlanders need to see this.  Far enough out of my geographic area that I have only had one ride all the way east on 6 going through your area!!  

Was that in a snowshed?

Yes. There are 4 important control points (for lack of a better term) on Donner Pass. All are “under roof” to shelter crossovers from snow: Shed 47, Norden (Shed), Shed 10, and Switch 9. Switch 9 is under I-80 (not a proper shed, but it serves the purpose).
I shot these inside the Norden Snowshed.

He's his own "boss" these days, happily retired.  Great pictures as always.

Hey-  help him out, TC.  Are you still working The Hill?  How are passenger counts on 5&6?   Ross always asks about counts  (he was on the Amtrak Board in the 80's- an old habit I suppose)
