Date: 02/21/21 21:09 Re: Donner Summit Roll-By Author: viatrainrider Thanks again for posting your great stuff. We Midwestern flatlanders need to see this. Far enough out of my geographic area that I have only had one ride all the way east on 6 going through your area!!
Was that in a snowshed? Date: 02/21/21 21:46 Re: Donner Summit Roll-By Author: BoilingMan Yes. There are 4 important control points (for lack of a better term) on Donner Pass. All are “under roof” to shelter crossovers from snow: Shed 47, Norden (Shed), Shed 10, and Switch 9. Switch 9 is under I-80 (not a proper shed, but it serves the purpose).
I shot these inside the Norden Snowshed. SR Date: 02/22/21 07:18 Re: Donner Summit Roll-By Author: co614 Thanks again SR for all your wonderful coverage " up on the mountain". Glad your boss is so generous allowing you so much time out !! Did you get a glimpse of how heavy his pssgr. load was?? Stay safe. Ross Rowland

Date: 02/22/21 10:36 Re: Donner Summit Roll-By Author: BoilingMan Hey- help him out, TC. Are you still working The Hill? How are passenger counts on 5&6? Ross always asks about counts (he was on the Amtrak Board in the 80's- an old habit I suppose)
