UP Engineering Special at Sherman today
Author: highgreengraphics

Today's UP PLGCB-16 Engineering Special surmounts wintery Sherman Hill at the "Highest Point" sign. The rear view with theatre-inspection obs Fox River and its curtain down as well as the absence of heads in the windows identify this as a deadhead move east. With thanks to JS for the headsup! === === = === JLH

Nice shot!  The snow and the train go well together.

A very "UP" photo with the Sherman sign. Would make a good calendar shot.

Photo 1 is awesome with the scenery and sign.
Photo 2 is a nice going away curve shot.

Those SD-70's are good looking engines, too.

So perfect, I thought this was a painting, at first glance on my phone!

Very nice!

Happy to see the sign is up, seem to recall it was down for a short while.

Too bad May 1,1971 already happened.  That would be a nice train to ride.

And, a PSA, if you want to ride long passenger trains for days on end, you can still do it in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Hello!  Does anyone know if UP is still using the E units?

Yes! That is, "someone knows", and darned near everybody else knows, that they are no longer using the E Units.
