Too bad- it could have been my greatest Necrophoamin story yet!
SR The train was painted in Phase 1 Amtrak colors in it’s last years. I posted a piece titled something like, “Amtrak’s only ALCo PA” a few years ago. Date: 04/19/21 14:13 Re: SurfLiner Blows Through Santa Claus Land Author: texchief1 Nice shot!
RC Lundgren Elgin, TX Date: 04/19/21 14:16 Re: SurfLiner Blows Through Santa Claus Land Author: IC_2024 We had a place in Dundee, IL called "Santa's Village" and it had a train, too-- all long gone, of course. Gotta have near-death thrill rides for the masses, now!!

Probably Santa Claus Land to the locals. But to most passer-byers, it's Santa Claus Lane thanks to the 101 signage. There is also the Sandyland Cove Rd. crossing a mile or so south of this location.
