Passenger Trains > Railfanning in Glen Rock, NJ: 4/16/21

On 4/16/21, I decided to photograph part of the NJT am rush hour in Glen Rock. Many of the trains I photographed on the Main Line because of the right of way being in better light. I captured a few trains on camera at the Glen Rock Boro Hall Station, located on the Bergen County Line.

1. With only seconds to spare, I was able to photograph the ALP45DP # 4519, in the Erie Lackawanna Colors, on the rear of NJT Main Line Train # 1208 just before departing Glen Rock Station. This train was heading away from me. After covering runs on the North Jersey Coast Line Long Branch to Bay Head Shuttle trains, it felt great seeing the 4519 back up on its home predecessor turf.

2. NJT PL42AC # 4032 leads westbound NJT Main Line Train # 1107 into Glen Rock Station

3. NJT Comet V Cab Car # 6073 trails on Train # 1107 out of Glen Rock Station on the Main Line

1. A NJT deadhead move on the Main Line behind a PL42 probably heading to Waldwick to turn back as a revenue move there

2 and 3. NJT Express Train # 54 passing through Glen Rock Station by way of the Main Line. Metro North Comet V Cab Car # 6700 is leading while MNR F40PH-3C # 4908 is trailing.

1 and 2. NJT Main Line Train # 1210 slows down for the Glen Rock Station. NJT Comet V Cab Car # 6040 leads while PL42AC # 4014 trails.

3. One of the two MNR GP40PH-2 units, the class leader 4900, leads westbound NJT Train # 43 through Downtown Glen Rock on the Main Line.

3. As a rest on the passenger action, I was treated to seeing NS H55 about to pass the Glen Rock Main Line Station

2. NJT Train # 1205 approaches Glen Rock Station on the Main Line. This train only goes as far as Ridgewood.

3. NJT Comet V Cab Car # 6024 trails on the rear of Train # 1205

1 and 2. NJT Train # 1162 arriving and departing Glen Rock Boro Hall Station on the Bergen County Line. Comet V Cab Car # 6073 leads and PL42AC # 4032 is on the rear of the train.

3. NJT Train # 1207, being utilized by a Multilevel Set being pulled by an ALP45, has just departed Glen Rock Station and heads up the Main Line. This train is bound for Waldwick.

1. MNR GP40FH-2 leads westbound NJT Pt. Jervis Line Train # 45 on the Bergen County Line into Glen Rock Boro Hall Station

2. NJT Comet V Cab Car # 6080 trails on the rear of Train # 45 as it departs Glen Rock Boro Hall Station. Next stop is Ridgewood.

Lots of diversity in locomotive models, liveries, destinations etc.

The area just north of Rutherford station used to be good for PM photos. The former Erie Main line split off for Passaic.
