Which one? 30(6) was it's normal consist. Are you talking about 29(5)? 29(6)? 30(5)?

FWIW, checked 29(6) on New Galilee, PA, cam (west of Pittsburgh.) Normal 5 car consist-no Amfleets.

Not on the Capital Limited. It is often used to deadhead cars between Chicago and DC (or DC to Chicago as you later clarifed).

Correct spelling is Capitol Limited, with an "o."  The train was named by the B&O for the Capitol (building) not the capital city. Amtrak has followed the tradition.

30(8) headed east with two engines, three deadhead single level coaches and a deadhead baggage (doors open) in front of the normal five car Superliner consist.
Could be the cars ferried a few days ago returning east?
