Date: 10/06/21 10:27 Re: Maiden Run of Amtrak "Pepsi Can" AMTK160 Author: toledopatch Just before midnight on Oct. 5, 2021, AMTK160 leads Amtrak #30, the eastbound Capitol Limited, past the old passenger station at Delta, Ohio. Next stop, Toledo, about half an hour late.

So nice to see that re-emerge too. Posted from iPhone Date: 10/06/21 12:27 Re: Maiden Run of Amtrak "Pepsi Can" #160 Author: DJ-12 Nice. This scheme looks great on a P42.
Date: 10/06/21 12:45 Re: Maiden Run of Amtrak "Pepsi Can" #160 Author: agentatascadero I know this scheme is popular here, but not with me. What makes this unattractive (to me) scheme even worse is to design it to only cover two thirds of the unit.
AA Stanford White Carmel Valley, CA Date: 10/06/21 13:30 Re: Maiden Run of Amtrak "Pepsi Can" #160 Author: amtrak8 I agree, too bad it wasn't used on the P40's and P42's all along. It's eye catching and doesn't blend in like the normal P42's.

SR Not that I much care for the Pepsi thing either… Date: 10/06/21 19:31 Re: Maiden Run of Amtrak "Pepsi Can" #160 Author: Train29 What a sad looking train indeed from previous year's versions of the Cap which had a full lounge and diner even in off season. With two locos, is Amtrak finally learning that even for such a short train, two units are a good idea given their failure rate. Lets hope so.

Don't hold your breath, every train leaving Chicago probably has the road crews having their fingers crossed! Date: 10/07/21 06:33 Re: Maiden Run of Amtrak "Pepsi Can" #160 Author: AndyBrown I like it!
Of course I'm so sick of the 3 sheets scheme that I'd take almost anything as long as it's different at this point. Andy Date: 10/07/21 06:38 Re: Maiden Run of Amtrak "Pepsi Can" #160 Author: sethamtrak Train29 Wrote:

From what I understand, it isjust being shuffled around in storage. 6 was dead in tow to DC. Still one unit on the Cap with 5 cars. It was reported elsewhere that the 160 died in Pittsburgh on this run, so the 6 got to pull the train the rest of the way to Washington.
