59 dropped 3 hours and 45 minutes in Mattoon last night. Amtrak alerts cites mechanical issues as the cause for the extended delay. Did they end up picking up a freight motor from CN?

Was a locomotive issue, just didn't need a freight unit. All the bolts that hold the end cap which attaches to the damper strut on lead truck fell out and they held for CN mechanical to come out and repair it.
