Surfliner Snafu? January 15

Train 765 shows arriving Chatsworth today, but never departing.  Equipment never reached Goleta so southbound 784 didn't operate from Goleta to Los Angeles.  Looks like a substitute set was placed in service for service from Los Angeles to San Diego.
Another Siemens failure?

Tsunami advisory?

An Amtrak alert advised the Surfliner's passengers were transferring to 14.

I didn't catch the reason why, but the answer probably resides in an alert earlier today, if anyone cares to search for it.

From /www.pacificsurfliner.com/plan-your-trip/alerts/

ALERT: Tides are expected to be higher than normal along the SoCal coast today. As a result, speed restrictions are in place between San Clemente and Oceanside, leading to potential delays for trains traveling through the area.

Searched and found the euphemistic "mechanical problems" at Chatsworth.

Sounds like another Silent Siemens went belly-up!

Could a rogue wave really knock over a train?
