Passenger Trains > CBS Sunday Morning on Penn StationDate: 10/13/02 10:57 CBS Sunday Morning on Penn Station Author: oaksmodelrr CSB Sunday Morning did a segment about the destruction of Penn Station. They featured pictures from a book about the demolition, and mentioned the reincarnation over at the post office. Some nice shots of GG1\'s too. Sorry, could not find a link to a clip on their site.

The first boob was the use of the European-sounding whistle - shades of the Orient Express. The ultimate indignity was the steam engine chuffing sounds accompanying the clip of the GG-1 hauled train as it passed by.
They were reviewing a book called "The Destruction of Penn Station". A photographic review of the last days of the station, and its demolition: http://makeashorterlink.com/?V2DB25812 Date: 10/13/02 14:21 Re: CBS Sunday Morning on Penn Station Author: CHATTER I have the book quoted on the report. It is available from Amazon and is called The Destruction of Penn Station by Peter Moore. It is a collection of photos from various stages in the destruction/MSG construction process, which extended over a five-year period. The station continued operations throughout this time. It\'s surprisingly extensive for a coffee-table style book.
