April 30 8 of us left Galesburg on #3 for ABQ. In our car the restrooms were out of order.  I think a switch was out of order and the flush would not work.  We had to go to the back car which was OK.  But after Kansas City the back car was full and those restrooms were not usable.  The Conductor opened up the lounge car restroom.  That was all we had all the way to ABQ. Most people were OK with what happened, except one guy. Idiot.  In ABQ they fixed the switch.  Other wise all was good.  We were on  time.  We returned out of ABQ May 8 and the trip was great.  We did not have to wear masks.  After Las Vegas we ran into smoke, and so for several miles we could smell the fires.  We were about an hour late into Galesberg, but over all our trip was good. Still not letting coach passengers eat in the diner, but the food in the lounge car was not bad.  Cars were full.  I guess they are  getting back to pre Covid consist next week.  

Good the conductor opened up the lounge car restroom. Need more like him.

Given the only other option would be send the coach passageers to the sleeper what would you expect the conductor would do? It was about his only option.

Could have done nothing and made them use the bathrooms in the other coach(es).

There were no other coaches.  The only other coach was full of waste.  Lounge worked.  Sleepers were the only option left.  We did stop at two stations and used their rest rooms, and that helped.  At least in ABQ they fixed the problem.
