Passenger Trains > Caltrain testing Stadler set for physical clearance today.Date: 07/16/22 11:47 Caltrain testing Stadler set for physical clearance today. Author: mleland Seems they went from CEMOF to Tamien and back. This is on Track 2 at Diridon.
Note some of the "extra" bits added to the cab end and near the middle that is likely for clearance testing. Mike Leland Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/16/22 12:05 by mleland. I was hoping somebody would capture this today! Interesting setup they used for the coupler.

I did think that the original design was for 6 car trains. This has 7 'cars'. Mike ONeill Parker, CO Date: 07/19/22 18:39 Re: Caltrain testing Stadler set for physical clearance today. Author: Jsporseen They had the money and ordered a seventh car for each train quite some time ago. I believe an eighth car, coach only, would make economic sense. Some of the platforms are already long enough to handle eight car trains and all platforms that are now too short, could easily be extended.

Be better thanthe Siemens deal since the Venture Cars are still mostly sidelined and the locomotives still have issues, especially not handling extreme cold! Any ideas from the TO brain trust about the source? TIA! ...Lorenzo Date: 07/21/22 06:14 Re: Caltrain testing Stadler set for physical clearance today. Author: portlander It's probably been mentioned here before, but do the doors with the cyclist image on them indicate that there are bike racks inside that car?
