If more people would respect, honor and even thank police officers for their work, maybe we'd have more law enforcement.  And then, let them do their job without micromanaging them.  Let them knock some heads and do some hard arrests on these thugs.  That's what it takes--overwhelming force.

And then instant punishment by a REAL district attorney, who wants to get the trash off the street.

and unfortunately so many law enforcement act in a manner not deserving respect, honor, or thanks.

However so many do act in a m manner deserving respect, honor, and thanks.

So if an angry policeman sees you taking photos - which he believes is illegal - you are okay with receiving a knocked head and be arrested hard?
I do not know your statistics but that knock and hard arrest will likely be much worse if you are a minority member of many kinds, or are less than affluent.

Be careful what you wish for.

historically, i wonder how many "use of force" arrests could have been avoided IF the suspects had complied with the officers requests?

Too Many Antifa, BLM and others in fringe groups think that they have the right to resist law enforcement.

when you mention failing to comply/resisting arrest to those who think police excessive force is a problem in this day and age, most become silent.

in most large cities where crime has increased on and near public rail transit, people want MORE police patrols to enforce laws..........

Thanks/  goneon66. I read that whole article you linked (Wirepoints) including the Comments section. Incredible. These are real Chicagoans, talking about their lives and experiences on the Trains, both employees and customers.

Mainly on the subways, but there have also been incidents on Metra and other heavy rail ops. Sad stuff- what to do? It seems to be nearing a breaking point.

Of course, most suspects, no matter where they are or who they are, are not inclined comply because they don't want to go to jail.

One could also wonder how many times there was no resistance but the officers used force because they wanted to or because they could...

or how many times "resistance" was self defense or self-preservation.

A number of people swallow the line "the suspect resisted" and immediately presume his deserving of injury or death without any question.

Some of you should consider watching the movie "Fruitvale Station" to get a different perspective.

Its got to be true if it's in the movies.

It's a dramatization of a real event on BART.  The issue is not whether the event happened, but providing a different perspective than most of the views expressed in this thread.
