Passenger Trains > Capitol Corridor vs truck, Vacaville CADate: 08/03/22 15:58 Capitol Corridor vs truck, Vacaville CA Author: GenePoon Reported on the AllAboard Group:
Early reports of a collision between a truck and a Capitol Corridor train at Vacaville, CA. No reports of injuries at this time. Helicopter video shows the train intact and on the rails, stopped a couple of hundred feet past a grade crossing. Some damage to the front of the truck, which was standing clear of the crossing—almost looks like a glancing blow to the truck. Capitol Corridor tweet reports this as westbound train 541, out of Sacramento at 11:55am PDT Date: 08/04/22 11:45 Re: Capitol Corridor vs truck, Vacaville CA Author: GenePoon Power was CDTX 2005, which did not appear to sustain damages sufficient to be removed from service. The truck, an engine-in-front type, had its hood ripped off. Driver and engineer undoubtedly required a change of undergarments.
