Passenger Trains > #5 on Sept 6 ? Cancelled?

So I just got around to cancelling my Amtrak reservation on #6/#5 EMY to DEN and back  in 3 1/2 weeks.  I lost $250 cancellation fee.  But:  the website told me that my return leg on No 5 , DEN to EMY on Sept 6 was cancelled (so I got full refund for that leg., apparently....).  So when was Amtrak going to tell be about their cancellation?  The agent on the phone said "you should have gotten an email...."  but I got no email about that. 
Lots of other complaints about this, but I'll stop there.  

I can still book DEN-EMY on 9/6. Are you sure it didn't just automatically cancel when you cancelled the first leg of a round trip reservation?

Maybe they cut a sleeper car that day but not the entire train?

Either way that sucks big time for you, but that's proof how crappy today's Amtrak is, especially with Gardner and Co. trying every trick in the book to dismantle the LD Network!

There appear to be rooms available.

I have heard of Amtrak sending cancellation notices in error. Or maybe it really is cancelled but the booking system doesn't know yet...

PSR railroading has come to west of SLC with no passing sidings long enough for freights, UP maybe working on that at a glacial pace, MOW activity in western colo as well, plus  heat restrictions perhaps?

Amtrak advised me that my trip on #6 DEN-CHI on 8/31 was cancelled.  I have received a full refund.  I was booked in the 632 sleeper, seems like they may be reducing to one sleeper on the CZ.  :(   BSB.  

Interesting.  I was booked in car 631 EMY to DEN on 8/31.  The cancellation fee applied to this leg.  (I cancelled this leg myself). I filled a claim with the trip insurance Co., so we will see....
I was booked on car 532 Den to EMY on Sept 6 and that leg was cancelled by Amtrak.  I got full refund for this leg of the trip.  
Could be they removed the 632/532 car from the train(s) , as of some mystery date.  
Stupid Amtrak.  

I did have a successful, on-time ride on the Capital Corridor EMY to SAC the last day of July for my Birthday present to myself.  Be thankful for small wonders. 

Wonder of wonders. The trip insurance refunded the $250 cancellation fee that Amtrak kept.

I still haven't been officially notified that my Coast Starlight trip from LAX to EMY on 1/27/22 was cancelled.
The last time I mentioned it here, I was told by some Amtrak fanboy toady to 'stop whining',
I have spent thousands of dollars on Amtrak travel since 2020. I'll bet fanboy hasn't detached his buttocks
from his Lay-z-boy recliner once during that entire timeframe.
