Sure, provide the funding to install and operate them and I'm sure every transit system will be onboard.

The Chicago Transit Authority has something like 32,000 cameras system-wide.  All Rail Stations, nearly every Rail Car, every Bus, and many of our off-street Bus turnarounds (former street car loops) have them as well.  Most of this work was completed by 2019.  Many of the fixed-location cameras are now upgraded to HDTV quality.  Not sure where the money came from, but the Federal Government was very generous to Chicago during the Obama Presidency and Rahm Emanuel's time as Mayor.

Have all these cameras had any effect on the crime rate on CTA trains?

video taped evidence is great for prosecutions.

if it causes anti-social behavior or crime to decrease, that is good too...........

You didn't answer the question. Have they had any effect on the crime rate?  It should be a simple yes or no answer.

What a F R A U D.
In Shi-cah'-ga, crime and fear of violence is bad and getting WORSE.
Jail for crime?  Nah, but thanks anyway.
Early next year, a new Illinois law will eliminates cash bail for most violent crimes.
A camera at EVERY seat will not offset the new California/New York law.
