Passenger Trains > Weird consist for #380 today

Bizarre consist this morning for #380: Two Amfleet coaches, a baggage car(?!) and no food service car. Whazzup with that?? Second time recently I have seen this. Is Amtrak running so short on operable Cafe Cars that they are substituting a baggage car to sell food in??? Anyone know the answer to this?

For the millionth time, that route is short of trained OBS personnel. It takes time to replace and train more. 2 coaches is an improvement over the one coach operating earlier in the week.

So why the baggage car?

Load some panic box snacks, water, hand them out, and stop behaving like a bus company. It is called truth in advertising.

we could throw some folding chairs into the bag car and sell space there too....

And when you are incompetent and try in every way to NOT operate daily trains, any excuse will do to avoid operating trains.

What are you talking about? They literally are running the train, would you prefer no train?

No food service car also means no WiFi. They can run one unstaffed if need be. 
They have a couple of dozen Siemens coaches, Amfleet-2 running on corridors where they don't belong, all Superliners on the Carbondale trains, and they still can only scrape up 1 or 2 coaches for Quincy trains. There are NO excuses.

More cars require more crew, that’s the rules.
