Passenger Trains > It's Better When The Train Is Late

There are some places where it's better when the train is late.

Gaviota is one of them.

The Seattle-bound Coast Starlight rolls through Gaviota just before 1 p.m. when the train is on time. Let's be honest, the light sucks at 1 p.m.

Yesterday's train was 3 hours late out of Santa Barbara, and the light was exponentially better when I caught it at Gaviota shortly before 4 p.m.

The train was late because it got caught in the residual backup after a morning pedestrian strike by Surfliner 770 near Moorpark.

Trains are better when they're "ON TIME".  :) 
 

On 12/26/22 I was having lunch in the diner when we crossed that bridge.  It is a great view no matter what perspective.
