"Running Around On The Adirondack Railroad"
Author: ut-1

On March 4th, Adirondack Railroad ran a "Cabin Fever Special" between Utica-Remsen NY, a 42-mile roundtrip. In Remsen, passengers could detrain to enjoy roasting marshmellows around a blazing campfire or, for those a bit less intrepid, simply enjoy a cup of hot chocolate inside the Depot.

The engines were Adirondack 3573 and, on loan, Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern 2456.

The run-around procedure is featured together with an interview of the engineer, John Norton, a decades-long volunteer on the Adirondack.

An Adirondack Conductor advises that one of the cars has a generator which provides all necessary power.

Wow, the bell on the 2456 had three Red Bulls and an expresso that morning! :-) Nice video.
