Passenger Trains > Amtrak 5 / 6Date: 05/18/23 05:28 Amtrak 5 / 6 Author: MOP1161 What is the status of EB 6 and WB 5. Amtrak tracker shows them way off the BN line from Denver to Lincoln.

Date: 05/18/23 10:41 Re: Amtrak 5 / 6 Author: DRGWK59 According to my sources in Alliance NE, #5 passe thru Alliance at about 8:30am, # 6 was earlier. #5 is somewhere in NE Colorado by now and #6 is near Grand Island!
Date: 05/18/23 12:23 Re: Amtrak 5 / 6 Author: steve4031 That is quite the detour. Kind of wish I was riding 6 to get the rare mileage. How would 6 get from Denver to Alliance? I am assume it went up to the UP route in Cheyenne and then worked east. Or was it an all BNSF routing?
Date: 05/18/23 12:49 Re: Amtrak 5 / 6 Author: WW It would go to Sterling on the Brush Subdivision, then north on the Angora Subdivision, all BNSF.
Date: 05/18/23 19:09 Re: Amtrak 5 / 6 Author: rsendeja Is tonight’s train also doing this detour? I’m supposed to be on the train from Chicago to Denver tomorrow. An 8 hour delay would not be great…
