Inaugural Run of Reading Northern's Pittston to Jim Thorpe train

Here is a TV news article of the new train that Reading Northern launched from Pittston PA to Jim Thrope PA on the former Lehigh Valley line in Northereastern Pennsylvania. 

There were about 1,000 people on the train which traverses though the mountains into the Lehigh Valley gorge for about 40 miles.  All weekend services are sold out until early July but this service will be running all summer.

Andrew Muller Jr the founder and CEO of Reading Northern was just honored by Railway Age magazine as a 2023 influencer in the railroad industry.  The transformation of this railroad is nothing short of spectacular since the days he took over this line from Conrail.

Amazing operation and what they have done..... Do they have any extra mechanics or crafts people that could go work for Amtrak?

The Reading Northern has 54 passenger cars in their inventory including 3 RDCs, 2 baggage cars, 2 diners, and a full length great dome car, and a budd dome coach.

Maybe they could be a contractor keeping a number of Amtrak cars in circulation?

Just curious....where do they park 54 passenger cars??

I haven't made it back to the RN since I was there with dad years ago.
