Number 14 On Its Home Stretch

Number 14, the Coast Starlight from Los Angeles, rounds the curve in the no-man's land between the charming village of Puyallup, and Sumner this evening.

Seattle's King Street Station is less than an hour ahead.

About time they put baggage cars back on the LD trains.  However the most interesting thing in this photo is that the sleepers are on the rear of the train!!  When did this change come about?

Temporary arrangement due to current track work going on in LA Union Station complex and not being able to completely wye the consists. Southwest Chief is not being turned either.
