Approaching CHI now, boarded in Emeryville 52 hours ago:
- Employees - Friendly and helpful.
- Accommodations - Clean, comfortable and working.
- Food - Good to Very Good.
- Scenery - Fantastic.
Memo to self: avoid end of car, it’s sometimes a rough ride.
We enjoyed the trip!

We were at end of car, right over truck. Middle of car, lengthwise, tends to experience less horizontal and vertical movement due to rough track conditions.

Fast, until we got behind SW Chief - they had a car with a wheel issue. Dispatcher got us around SWC, and it was back to track speed (70 mph?). Speedy arrival in Chicago.

Maximum speed is 79 Galesburg to Aurora, then 70 the rest of the way to Chicago(except for local speed restrictions of course).
