Amtrak's New Phase VII's Lead CZ #6 and Winter Park Express 3/22.

This past Friday was busy on the Moffat Line in the late afternoon with at least two eastbound and one westbound freights, along with #6 and the WPE. They decided to let #6 go ahead of the Ski Train down into Denver.  After 20 minutes for the fans to clear the exhaust from #6 the WPE roared out the tunnel 12 minutes later.  It was great to have this new paint scheme on the point of two trains within 30 minutes of each other.  Also, there's only one more weekend for the 2024 WPE.

Many thanks to those of you who provide updates and photos on "special" trains as it does help those of us further down the line.

That last photo is awesome! The only two Phase VII P42s at the same place and at the same time. Really looks cool seeing two of them together. That paint scheme on a P42 is certainly growing on me.

The use of red on the top half of the nose of the P42s is much more effective than its use on the Siemens units where it looks like a minor amount of added trim.

Totally agree!  I thought the they should have done more red on the nose with the retro SDP40F scheme.
