Word is that tonights late 53 has two Chargers on it.

It more than likely is late as 52 was 4-5 hours late going north this morning

Yeah 52 was 8 hours late. 53 SB will be 5 hours late.  Scheduled for 10p

Might not be true after all. Someone else on FB saying that Siemans staff has to be on board and that not slated to happen until Monday

52 should be passing the Folkston railcam soon, about 8.15-8.30

Mainly talking about P053 of the 24th sitting still in Lorton. Thought it was going to have a couple Challengers on it, but I'm told that is not the case for Sunday but maybe tomorrow, Monday the 25th.

Train 53 (24) is still in Lorton. Although it's called for 10 pm, the Amtrak alerts now says 12.30 am.  Given how late the inbound train was, that's still a pretty good turn around for a train that's likely close to full

Amtrak may decide to cancel both trains on the 25th to get back on schedule.

That leads to another question. Does 52 have equipment NB that 53 needs SB. Or is it more of a crew issue?
Seems silly, but what do I know, that 53 is held up by a late 52.

Yes.  The equipment that comes north to Lorton turns, and becomes the equipment that returns to Sanford that afternoon.  Sometimes the Sanford team will drop or add an auto carrier depending on the volume expected, or problems encountered en route. The passenger car mix stays consistent for weeks at a time.
