Passenger Trains > Redlands Hydrogen Train Sets World Mileage Record

The Stadler hydrogen multiple unit H2 train that will eventually enter service on the 
San Bernardino to Redlands line has set a world record for mileage range for a hydrogen
powered train between refuelings.  Beginning on 3/20 and running for 46 hours and stopping
only for recrewing the H2 racked up 1,742 miles on the Pueblo, CO test circuit averaging
about 36 mph.

First photo shows the unit on test in Switzerland back in 2022 with the second
depicting a four car version that Caltrans will purchase(10 trains plus options).

Hydrogen fuels are getting a lot of attention from major propulsion manufacturers.

China seems to be making progress with hydrogen fueled trains also:

Because it is potentially a bad website.

Stalder had a note on one of the social media sights as the train was making the loops (kind like my model train layout) last week and then the big hurrah when it completed the run.  That's a really big deal for a new technology.  Hopefully it can earn its keep on the Redlands branch and leads to more trains in more places as a result.
