All aboard the moon train: DARPA is trying to figure out how to build a lunar railroad

Business Insider:
https://www.businessinsider.com/darpa-futuristic-lunar-railroad-solutions-astronauts-living-moon-2024-3

With the United States planned return to the Moon by 2025, give or a take a a few years, DARPA tasked
US aerospace and defense tech firm Northrop Grumman to develop a concept for a lunar railway.

No doubt the urgency to fund studies now.  Seriously, considering how long it's taking the CA HSR project
to move along, perhaps now is a good time.  The added costs that could be saved not having to deal with
lunar eminent domain, for instance.

I guess it'll have to be electric, since internal combustion is out of the question.  Going to take a powerful rocket to get all that steel up there.  Good luck.

I think it makes more sense to consult with the cow that jumped over the moon. Just sayin'.

I remember. I understood the political context behind the statement. That context should become moot pretty soon, so it's better to forget (mocking global politics).
