Passenger Trains > Zephyr Bearing Gifts on Easter

I managed to get away in time to catch the eastbound California Zephyr that's been moving two fresh out of the factory ALC-42s the past two days.  I caught Amtrak #6(29) running left-handed on Main 1 through Agency, Iowa.  It seems there's been a slow order on this track here the past few weeks.  This allowed for a longer look at the new Chargers.

Really nice video there, Agent, and the slow order definitely made for a better roll-by than at speed!
And, wow, that cemetery sure is close to the tracks— no RIP there— but a fitting “end of the line” for a rail/ railfan!

Nice shot! I wonder what happened to their Sightseer Lounge on this manifest?

I wonder if they did a "combined diner-lounge" thing, as they've always done every day on the Seattle section of the Empire Builder west of Spokane.

That's just for one meal (an evening or morning) on the Empire Builder. Rough go for entire route for the CA Zephyr riders........Been onboard when the Diner was shutdown on the Zephyr after dinner leaving westbound from Chicago. I boarded in Glenwood Springs. Food was loaded at Glenwood Springs for Sleeping car passengers (and subsequent stops all the way to Emeryville). That's a bit different. At least coach passengers still had some semblance with the Sightseer Lounge Car Cafe. Rough go for those CA Zephyr riders with no Superliner Sightseer Lounge car, or some sort of substitute. I guess Oakland was all out of any sort of spare ANYTHING! Not that it ever really has spares for the LD trains.
