They have to set out the Lounge Car at Gallup. Lounge Car has a Hot Bearing at 140 Degrees.  Got to Gallup at 8:24p MDT, still there as of 9:30p MDT.

UPDATE: As of 9:17 pm MT, Southwest Chief Train 3, which departed Chicago (CHI) on 4/2, will have a delay period at Gallup (GLP) of 60-90 mins due to mechanical issues.

Now that's bad, 1ST a BO Lounge, now engine issues, won't surprise me if BNSF loans them a locomotive if not in Gallup, Winslow!

Just left Gallup at 21:58 MDT, has to do a set-out enroute of the Lounge Car before proceeding West.

Where did you get the engine issues? The mechanical delay at Gallup is the b/o Lounge car.

If the Sightseer Lounge has been set out...does it get repaired on-site and necessarily get picked up by a future #3 or #4?  I'll be heading west out of KCY (coach) on Saturday and can't imagine making this trip to Fullerton/San Diego without!  I did a recent Texas Eagle with no lounge...don't want this again!

 Thanks in advance Robert.

There must have been other issues besides the setting out of the lounge since the train loss over three more hours between Winslow and Fullerton. With the lounge set out, what food and beverages were available for the coach passengers?
