Passenger Trains > Why the color of the new bagsDate: 04/20/24 06:03 Why the color of the new bags Author: Woodman Does anyone know why the new baggage cars are the color they are? The don't match the other Amtrak cars, which make them kinda of ugly to me. Any discussion as to why?
Date: 04/20/24 06:40 Re: Why the color of the new bags Author: jp1822 Long story - but they match to the Viewliner II brand of cars - Viewliner II Diner, Viewliner II Sleeper, Viewliner II Sleeper/Bagg. Was also supposed to be part of "Amtrak Across America Brand" that the Boardman team came up with when ordering these cars, but that has fallen through since the Viewliners II were ordered back in 2010. Took 10 years, not the anticipated 5 years, to get all the cars "in service."
