Passenger Trains > FL SunRail Expansion 4/11Date: 04/20/24 12:38 FL SunRail Expansion 4/11 Author: Lackawanna484 The Roaming Railfan has a new U tube video about the 12 mile northeastern expansion of Sunrail. Search SunRail Expansion Deland.
The station platform for exclusive SunRail use is just about done. Among the last items are the crossing safety systems for the walkway, and a conductor operated handicap access ramp. And completion of the improvements to the original parking lot. Amtrak will continue to use the original platform. SunRail is still running around less than half full 2 car trains with the exception of certain situations. Normally you start increasing capacity after service starts but this doesn't seem to be the case for SunRail.
