Passenger Trains > I miss Virtual Railfan

I especially miss the camera at San Juan Capistrano. (on the L.A.-San Diego route)

After these trains came back, after months of being out of service -- it was fun hearing
the conductor on #777 sometimes announce---"Standing room only, Folks"

Anyone know --- Is this Camera gone forever?



 

I just looked and it’s working fine. Says 23 people are watching.

Until earlier this month, anyone could access the various Virtual Railfan sites.   It now appears to require a subscription.

I don’t have a subscription and I just pulled it up on YouTube with no issues

Occasionally Virtual Railfan camera sites are moved to a new web address. If a site you have bookmarked shows that it is not available, search for the site on Google. If it has moved to a new address, the search will find it.

All you have to do is buy a subscription...

Thanks everyone!  I'm re-connected again.  Apprecciate the help.

And happy to report that Train 777 was "Standing Room Only " again today.

Also there were Sell Outs on the NEC  also-- including two entire Acela trains NYP to Boston

Maybe we can start to "Get Happy" once again.

I'll get happy when Amtrak becomes what it is supposed to be - a national railroad with enough cars, reliable engines, and employees to satisfy the public's demand for cross-country passenger trains. And given their current lack of competent leadership I'll probably be unhappy for a while longer.

Bad management can kill good ridership

I am unable to access the Horseshoe Curve camera.

Just checked and I had no trouble accessing Horseshoe Curve, San Juan Capistrano, Skykomish, or any other of the Virtual Railfan live webcams I tried for that matter. I have a free account with no subscription.
