Signal Sunday, on the NEC
Author: bandob

PRR position lights persist, but with modern colors on the NEC in this scene from 2006.

What is happening here?
The signals show we have a northbound train cleared on the southbound main.

Guess it must be Davis -- signal bridge is here

The green signal is on track 2, which was
signalled both ways.
The track south of track 1 is some freight track or other, called A.

If you want a map, click on the link, zoom out a bit,
and click on the icon in the upper right corner
of the screen. It gives you a choice of maps.

This Davis Interlocking in Newark, Delaware.  Amtrak uses the three mains with the center track (green signal) signaled both ways.  The nearest track was the lead out of the Chrysler plant (now gone) and Davis tower and switch for the main down the Delmarva Peninsula are of of sight on the right.  Septa ends their service on the nearest track with the new station behind the photographer.  The old PRR station is out of sight on the left and is now a museum.
