Hey, the way Amtrak is running these days, with all the regular locomotives breaking down, this engine might be used on the head of some of their passenger trains, with the regular engine behind for HEP. That's a great looking engine, thanks for sharing the photo with all of us. John in White Marsh, Maryland Date: 05/06/24 07:39 Re: Amtrak GP38-3 745 Author: Lackawanna484 Nice picture, nice paint job

With the new Siemens Units. And even with the P40/42 Units. The Geep Units might keep the trains on time ClubCar Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > mp51w Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Too nice looking to be stuck in yard duty! > Hey, the way Amtrak is running these days, with > all the regular locomotives breaking down, this > engine might be used on the head of some of their > passenger trains, with the regular engine behind > for HEP. I'm not sure they are geared for passenger speeds. I do however like the idea of rebuilding frieght units with a good track records for Amtrak!
