Date: 05/07/24 16:54 Re: Amtrak's new Mini-Builder Test Train Author: westcoastrails Great photo! I guess that answers the question on if this will be push pull or not. I kinda figured it wouldn't. So they'll wye the train in the Twin Cities and Chicago.

For now. Date: 05/07/24 20:57 Re: Amtrak's new Mini-Builder Test Train Author: Drknow Wouldn’t it be something if Amjoke had a car on the rear of the train; let’s call it a “observation car” with maybe a small lounge and large windows on the end, some comfortable chairs, soft music, and relaxing watching the upper Mississippi Valley and driftless region go by. ON TIME. Maybe charge a little extra for the service. Wonder if anyone ever tried it… 🤔
Nah. Never work. Regards Posted from iPhone Date: 05/07/24 21:14 Re: Amtrak's new Mini-Builder Test Train Author: dan why is the cafe not midtrain ? guess they will put it midtrain by the time the train rolls? no baggage car , no bikes? or maybe they will just put them in a vesitbule?

Amtrak could do a lot of "simple things" to create what I would call an "up-charge" for a certain service offering. It's a simple concept. Half is business class, likely the rear half. Date: 05/08/24 05:24 Re: Amtrak's new Mini-Builder Test Train Author: Drknow I’m hoping this new service takes off. I’m hoping it is well patronized.
I’m also hoping it can KEEP ON SCHEDULE. I’m hoping it will deliver to the customers what is promised. A clean, on time, fast, efficient, comfortable, safe and reliable service. This is what any mode of transport has to fulfill to be successful. It’s what the public wants, needs and expects. Amjoke has 50 years of reputation to battle for the respect of the public to be placed upon it. If Amjokes status quo of equipment failures and unwillingness to maintain equipment or run trains when it snows continues on this service the public will not be overly impressed. With fingers crossed. Regards Posted from iPhone Date: 05/08/24 05:27 Re: Amtrak's new Mini-Builder Test Train Author: restricted_speed Drknow Wrote:

It's a simple concept. If growing revenue and customer satisfaction were meaningful performance metrics (read: "bonuses"), then we would see things like this. VIP's will be present.
While that was going on, Hiawatha 333 broke down enroute and 337 was cancelled, with buses called. Just as well they don't run Siemens toys on the Borealis. |
