Caltrain's AEM-7's
Author: amtrakin

With the start of Caltrain's full electric service, I still see the two ex Amtrak AEM-7's (929 & 938) sitting on a side track in San Francisco, rusting away.  I thought I read Caltrain's intention was to use them for catenary testing.  Anyone have any word of their fate at Caltrain?

Were they ever used for anything, other than a PR shoot with the one in Caltrain livery?

Why not keep them? Just in case.

Because they don't work?
