Cliffwood Avenue crossing, Aberdeen NJ.  PRR image borrowed from a book. Circa 1956.

The old Sears Catalog house is still there.

Going away shot with a wide angle deepens the sky colors.

On the west side of the Mississippi the "Coast Line" is the former Southern Pacific along the Pacific coast.
Not to be confused by the "Surf Line" which is the former Santa Fe from Los Angeles to San Diego.
I really enjoyed the before and after sets, thanks for sharing.

Photo #2, February 5, 1978. The next day, The Great '78 Blizzard arrived
dumping about 20 inches of snow and five-foot drifts.

The most impressive item in these pictures is the tree growth from "Then" to "Now."

Houses were in Sears catalogs? Until when?
Are lots more known to still exist?

A quick search provides lots of infomation about the Sears kit homes. Many were sold and many still exist.

One of my general managers used to tell a story about business evolution by stating that Sears and their catalog 50 or so years ago (selling literally everything by mail) WAS what Amazon has become today.
(And here's a bunch of demerits/brownies in advance to the first one who devolves this into politics).    BSB

Sears also sold barn kits - and they ranged in ALL sizes.

The house I grew up in was a Craftsman house. Ordered and assembled by my grandfather in 1892.
