I hope so. Jamaica has not been a safe neighborhood since the 1960's.

As the writer Anatole France pointed out in the nineteenth century:  "The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread. "  Kicking people out from a warm place with no alternatives simply increases the penalties that go along with being poor.  It may make us more comfortable by keeping them out of our sight, but it doesn't change their situation or show any concern for them as people.

Maybe if they got a job they might not be "homeless". Everyplace you look where we live, there are lots and LOTS of "HELP WANTED" signs.

For people who don't have addiction and mental health issues. Which, based on personal observation, a majority of them have.

No one has figured out  what to do about the mentally ill and drug addicted population which is most of the homeless.
Lots of kids being born into drug additcted and mentally ill households

Exactly. There is a lot of affordable housing in NYC for people working minimum wage jobs.
