Apparently nobody reported spotting it returning to Washington DC. FINIS Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/27/24 01:16 by GenePoon. By the way, yours truly "met" 157 on northbound 124 on the 24th. We crossed over 2-to-3 at Milford while 157 waited. There were a slew of delays that afternoon/evening due to "trespasser activity" (Amtrak's term, not mine) in Glen Allen. Later news reports state the Carolinian (train 80) struck and killed a cyclist at the Hungary Rd. grade crossing. You could get a pretty good idea what was going on thanks to Amtrak Status Maps. Amtrak also sent out multiple texts with updates on the delays. The railroad was shut down for nearly three hours. The authorities re-opened one track just before 6 pm.
