Denver Union Station lit up Thanksgiving evening, 28 November 2024. Amtrak train 6, the California Zephyr, left on time at 6:59 PM. Christmas lighting at the station will be held 5:00 PM Friday, 29 November.

Nice photos, thanks for sharing. I was there two winters ago and the beautiful waiting room was over run with homeless types. I spoke with an undercover cop who said that the problem grows worse every year. He says that when they are forced to arrest a vagrant on trespassing charges they're back out on the street the same day. Sad but true. Ross Rowland 

I was there in early December last year boarding the eastbound Zephyr, and found the place to be very pleasant and lively.  Very little evidence of folks just there seeking shelter.

they have redone the interior, perhaps with better sightlines to keep an eye on non customers?  And the denver public library has reopened providing added relief for the homeless after it was was rebuilt for a couple years, the entrance was really opened up  for better security i think, really giving them a good place to stay indoors during inclement weather.    So many travelers and suitcases roll thru the platforms, going to the airport train

I was there a couple of summers ago. The station was a combination homeless encampment, some kind of hotel? Hipster bar/hangout, bus station, and in a little corner was a kiosk with something about trains. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I like what they've done with LA UNION STATION:  can't hang around in the lounge / waiting area (seating) unless you have a valid ticket.  Along with the security personnel there, I barely saw any homeless people.  One guy who tried to sneak in was quickly chased out, and he was making all sorts of noise about it, but it's a station for passengers, not bums.
