Winter Park Express 3 Jan 2025 near E Portal, CO

Amtrak's Winter Park Express, train 1105, was speeding west between Tolland and East Portal, CO, Friday, 3 January 2025.  First run for 2025-!  Amtrak 75 in Phase VII scheme with Amtrak 146 did the honors.

Amtrak can run trains in the snow, like the Winter Park Express, but has to cancel the Floridian from Miami to Washington where there is no snow.

Snow is not the problem. Ice is the problem. Ice brings down trees, power lines and the cantenary. Ice is much more dangerous then snow.
